Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta

Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta is one of  the many historical hotels in Yogyakarta. It was built in 1918 by a Chinese entrepeneur from Semarang. In 1930 the hotel changed it name to Splendid Hotel after being leased by a dutchman. It was then changed to Hotel Yamato in 1942 when the Japanese colonialized the city. Indonesia managed to seize the hotel after its independence, and thus changing the name into Hotel Merdeka. The first president of Indonesia, Soekarno, even made this hotel into his office after Yogyakarta was named capital of the country. In 1993 the hotel was  renovated and was officialy named Hotel Phoenix Heritage. Accor Group took over the management of the hotel in 2003 and made bigger renovation for it. It was then named Grand Mercure Hotel in 2004 and 5 years later, to be exact in March 30 2009 , it bears the current name Phoenix Hotel.

The Phoenix hotel is very strategic in location, Jl. Jenderal Sudirman No.9, distancing only 2 km from Malioboro, and only 8 km from Adisucipto International Airport. The hotel provides 144 rooms of a 5-star hotel quality. Each room having facilites such as cable TC, internet access, AC, bathtub and shower with cold/hot water, mini bar, balcony and hair dryer.The hotel facilities and services include swimming pool, gym, sauna, messaging, bar/pub, deposit box, meeting room, restaurant and laundry/dry cleaning. The average rate of the hotel is $74 a night, very suitable for such wonderful facilities and services. The hotel is fit for bussinessman and tourists in search of strategic and comfortable hotel.
