Located 27 km away from Jogja to the south is the exotic Parangtritis beach. It is a sloppy, rocky and white sanded beach it the district of Bantul. Parangtritis is a common attraction site for local dwellers. Aside from being a recreational site, the beach also holds mystical power. The area is often known to be the home of Nyi Roro Kidul, the ancient spirit of the South. People are often reported missing every year after visiting this beach. Despite the hideous fact, visitors don’t mind going to there at all. It is proved by the many visitors going there in holiday seasons, as well as weekends.
