Some ornaments of Javanese and Balinese also decorate the hotel’s lobby and beautiful garden is in front of all rooms. The building is very aesthetic with its modern Javanese look and feel that gives it that unique local character.

Duta Guest Hotel is situated in a nice and relatively quiet area of Prawirotaman – a fair distance from the main Malioboro area but in rangeof good craft shops, ATMs, car rental, travel agents and restaurants, only about 5 minutes walking distance. The distance to Keraton is only about a 10-minute drive, while the route to the airport is 20 minutes and the railway station is 10 minutes.

The rooms are spartiates in the low ranged price but the beds are good and the bathroom has hot water also. Breakfast is good and buffet style. The guest rooms are organised around two courtyards, one of which has an attractive pool area. Breakfast is simple (fruit, toast eggs and coffee – or noodles and rice) in a pleasant outdoor dining area near the pool.

Ibis Malioboro Hotel is located in the business and centre district of Yogyakarta. It is 10 kilometres from the Airport and just 300 metres from the railway station. Major tourist attractions including the Sultans Palace, which is only 1.5 km away, Water Castle and Sonobudoyo Museum are only a short walk from the hotel. If you don’t feel like walking, street. taxis, trishaws (becak), horse carriages (andong) are readily available outside the hotel. The most interesting and convenient factor about the hotel is definitely the location (just meters away form the shopping area of Malioboro) and the linked door right to the adjacent Malioboro Mall (complete with a supermarket and other stores).

The hotel consists 148 rooms in 8 floors and has ampled hotel facilities to offer, such as two restaurants, two bars, a fitness centre and a swimming pool.. The room is comfortable and fairly spacious. The buffet breakfast was very satisfying and available as early as 4 am. The services are also great, wake up calls, spa/sauna, in house restaurant for convenience and many local food stalls and warungs just outside the street. The hotel provides 30 mins free wifi per day for guests. However this is only accessible from the lobby. This hotel is suitable for guests who wish to find decent mid-classed hotel near the shopping area.

Rumah Mertua Hotel is a small boutique hotel with 11 comfortable bedroms and a traditional restaurant with romantic garden environment. The hotel is a combination of a luxurious design and traditional Javanese environment.

The hotel is located behind the superior Hyatt Regency Hotel. It is only a 15 minute drive away from the center of the city. What’s interesting about the hotel is that it is perfectly settled in a village, and about 8 minutes walking to the main road. For a second it may not look like a hotel, more like a treasured sanctuary in the bustling town of Jogja. The distant location makes the environment rather serene and quite. Even when fully booked, guests will find the atmosphere very quite and relaxing.

The staff is just wonderful, always showing a naturally honest smile. They are always ready to make their guests’ stay more comfortable. Their cleaning is also nice. Guest just feel as if they were at their own house because of the cleaness.

The food served at the restaurant is filled with delicious local cuisine. Guests are also offered for sightseeing, but they have to rent a car first. All and all, this hotel serves as a “home-like” hotel, very suitable for guests seeking a quite and calm environment to spend their leisure time.
